Welcome to the new Unofficial Time Team America Website
With the revamp of the main unofficial Time Team website, I have decided to give Time Team America its own look, instead of just adding pages to the main site. It's identical to the main site in design except of course the background image which was made for us by Paul Potiki. Link to visit the main site is below.
So if you don't like the British version of Time Team, you can simply bookmark this page instead of having to go through the main site to get to here.
What is time team America
Part extreme adventure, part hard science, and part reality show, Time Team America takes viewers deep into the trenches of America’s most intriguing archaeological sites.
In each episode, the show’s team of top scientists has just three days to uncover the buried secrets of their assigned dig. Every hour counts as they piece together the past using the latest technology, decades of combined experience, and their own sharp wits.
Far from the comfort of a science lab, Time Team America faces searing heat, driving rain, alligator-infested swamps, frayed nerves, and the inevitable technical setbacks. Through it all, the audience peers over the shoulders of diggers at work, eavesdrops on intense conversations between experts, and shares the rush of discovery as artifacts emerge from the ground.

Crow Canyon Archaeological Center
This area may have been home to one of the largest Basket maker communities known in the Mesa Verde region.
Surveys show about 120 pit houses probably 1500-1600 years old. But recent tests make archaeologists wonder if there might be far more pit houses, as many as ten times more.
Was the population boom even larger than suspected? Why? Where you find pit houses, you also find tools, evidence of what people ate and how they lived.
